Davis Wright Tremaine's Office of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, in partnership with the DWT PRIDE Employee Resource Group, is proud to honor Pride Month with a discussion with digital media entrepreneur and podcast host Anna DeShawn on Wednesday, June 11 at 12:00 pm PT / 3:00 pm ET. This program is part of our regular DEI Education series and is eligible for DEI Billable Credit.
Anna DeShawn is an Ambie award-winning Chicago podcast host, producer, and digital media entrepreneur. She founded E3 Radio in 2009 to spotlight Queer news and music. Expanding her impact, DeShawn founded The Qube, a podcast production company that amplifies podcasts by BIPOC and QTPOC creators, and also hosts a weekly podcast, Queer News, on YouTube and all major podcast platforms.
Through her work in podcasting and advocacy, DeShawn amplifies marginalized voices through an intersectional lens to deepen understanding, foster empathy, and inspire systemic change. During this event, we will explore the transformative power of storytelling within the LGBTQ+ community, centering Queer music and Queer news. We will also explore how sharing Queer stories helps build community, encourage inclusion, and affirm our shared humanity. This program will be moderated by DWTSurge Recruiting Manager and DWT PRIDE Employee Resource Group Co-Chair, Mariah Watson.
